Luxe Again

So it has been about a year since I wrote a review of Luxe's happy hour and since that review it has changed.  There are still wonderful drinks for $5.5, including the Bloom- my favorite.  (See prior post for all the great information on it).

Last night we orders the Margherita Pizza and a plain traditional with pepperoni.  All were half off during happy hour on the porch.  The Margherita had thin slices of tomato, cheese, and was crisp and light.  The plain pizza was also light and crisp with the right amount of sauce to topping ratio.  The best part is, the pizza's are 8 slices and can easily be shared with a group.

We also ordered their Fritto misto.  It was fried, not breaded, brussel sprouts, green beans and sweet potatoes.  The brussel sprouts were golden and sweet and crunchy.  The green beans had a little char and were crisp to bite but still well cooked.  The sweet potato was crunchy on the outside and literally fell apart on the inside as you cut into it.  IT was served with a curry sauce that was not too spicy but had a punch of flavor.

The best part about Luxe is their patio.  If you go on a Wednesday night they have free live entertainment.  The entertainment is great, not too loud but wonderful background music.  The outdoor patio is fun and lively and can be hard to get a seat.

Luxe has always been one of my favorite spots in Gordon Square.  It offers great food quality at a great price.  They have ever changing specials every night which makes the dining experience different all the time.  They also have a parking lot in the back which is another plus of Gordon Square!
